Co-operation FloraHolland and FFP in Fair Trade-concept

Consumers feel more and more responsible for the maintenance of our planet. The demand for green, healthy, social and fair is increasing. Therefore the consumer wants to know the origin of the products he buys, and if they are produced in a socially and environmentally responsible way.

FloraHolland goes along with this demand for recognition and together with FFP (Fair Flowers Fair Plants) they introduce the FloraHolland Fair Trade concept on the market. 

FFP-products belong to the top of the floricultural segment, coming from growers worldwide who  fulfil high conditions regarding environmental and social aspects. The growers that produce for the Fair Trade-concept FFP flowers and plants, have to fulfil these high conditions. Independent audits determine if the growers fulfil the conditions of the FFP standard, being ICC (International Code of Conduct) and MPS-A. With this they distinguish themselves from other growers, that satisfy more general conditions.

Green en conscious
The Fair Trade concept fits very well in the need for sustainable products and in the trends of living ‘green’ and ‘conscious’. To present these ‘green’ and fair products with the FFP label clearly recognisable and visible to the consumer, FloraHolland has developed a Fair Trade packaging concept. The various consumer groups that should be attracted by the design, were taken into account developing this concept. And also the wide and international assortment of FFP products fits in the concept.
