FFP presentations at GASA Germany

In March 2010 the consumer label Fair Flowers Fair Plants was presented extensively at information meetings that GASA Germany organized for their suppliers.
GASA Germany, a daughter of the dänish GASA Group A/S and founded in 2002, already has been involving sustainability issues in their company policy for some time. In September 2009 the flower and plant trader from Germany (Niederrhein) joined as a participant in the FFP programme. In the mean time GASA Germany too has been able to establish that the interest of the modern consumer for sustainably produced flowers and plants has rooted unmistakably, that a demand is growing that needs to be answered.
GASA Germany intended to organize the meetings in order to inform especially their german suppliers about the consumer label Fair Flowers Fair Plants and to stimulate and support these producers on their way to certification. A large number of suppliers met in the GASA Halle to learn from FFP itself about the origin of the label, the developments and the additional value. MPS explained the contents and significance of the social and environment certifications, that are required for participation in the FFP programme.
With the meetings GASA Germany made it possible for their suppliers to get acquinted with the FFP consumer label and the necessary certifications and is importantly encouraging the increase of the sustainable production of flowers and plants that will find their way to consumers in Holland, Belgium, Germany, Scandinavia, Italy and France, through GASA and with the FFP consumer label.
